Description:
Organiclear WR-5 is a superior exterior wood treatment that restores, preserves and enhances the natural beauty of your new or existing log home. The WR-5 offers a unique blend of deep-penetrating premium oils, resins and waxes to create for your home the ultimate long-lasting MOISTURE-GUARD™ barrier against harsh weather. To enhance wood life further, the WR-5 provides maximum protection against ultraviolet (UV) radiation damage by combining sun blockers to absorb and control UV degradation, thus minimizing wood deterioration. For investment security, the WR-5 penetrating coating will also prevent wood from cracking or peeling. The ORGANICLEAR™ WR-5 yields a deluxe exterior finish that allows wood to "breathe" naturally through a micro porous film and prevents moisture penetration. Water beads up and rolls off the exterior wood surface. This protective coating brings out the natural grain beauty of the wood while preventing the wood from cracking and peeling. WR-5 is the perfect choice for the full realm of wood protection your home needs to stand the test of time.

Stain Application Tips:
- Plan to stain when the forecast is predicting
good weather that will extend 1-2 days after the stain has been applied.
- The moisture content of
wood should not exceed 19%.
- Log surfaces must
be sound and clean from dirt, pollen and
other surface contaminants.
- Surface prep should be done no
more than 1-2 weeks before stain is applied. Media blasting and other
dry prep methods are best, but power washing can work if done properly
and the wood is allowed to dry.
- Apply
to log surfaces with a temperature range of 40°F (4°C) and rising to
90°F (32°C) and falling.
- Do not apply to surfaces in direct
intense sunlight, since the surfaces can be too hot.
- If your home is in an area of high humidity, add additional mildewcides to the stain. Call us for recommendations.
- Mix
together pails that may have different lot numbers; this will help
ensure uniformity of color. Stir thoroughly to mix all pigments evenly,
and stir the stain periodically throughout application.
- Brushing the stain into your wood will help promote better adhesion thus giving your stain more durability.
- Spraying your stain followed by brushing is a good way to speed up the process. It is important to flood the surface of your wood while spraying.

- How often do I need to restain my log home with OrganiClear?
- Many factors can influence the life expectancy of a wood treatment system. Based on regular inspection, repeat maintenance is usually on a 3-5 year cycle (or as needed) for the exterior and wood decks.
- Can I use OrganiClear WR-5 on my deck?
- Yes, WR-5 exterior water-repellent wood finish which has the ability to reduce splitting and warping. Organiclear WR-5 is also recommended for dimensional stability of pressure-treated lumber, cedar and redwood. Apply when wood is thoroughly dry and follow label directions carefully.
- What steps should I take before staining my log home?
- 1.) Make sure your logs are clean and sound.
- 2.) Make sure the surface temperature of the logs are between 50-90 degrees.
- 3.) Make sure the weather forecast is dry for two days during the
staining process and dry for a two days after the staining process.
- 4.) Make sure the moisture content of the wood is below 20% prior to the staining process.
- 5.) Make sure that you don’t have any compatibility problems with any previously applied coatings.
- 6.) Read all of the application guidelines for the stain material that is being applied.
- 7.) Recommendation: Use a sprayer to flood the surface of the logs with
the stain material and then immediately back brush the stain into the
pores of the wood.

Packaging
One gallon pails, five gallon pails fifty-five gallon drums and 1⁄4 pint samples available.
Coverage Rate
1st Coat: 200-400 sq. ft./gal
(As with all stains, coverage will vary depending upon roughness of the wood.)
Directions Before Use
WR-5 Wood Coating is for exterior use only and should not be diluted.
For best results, treat new wood QUICKLY (within two weeks of weather
exposure) to avoid pre-weathering damage to wood surface. Prior to use,
mix well with a paint stick. Routinely stir during application.
Application Range
Surface
temperature should be 50°F and rising to 80°F (32°C) and falling.
The coating should be applied and allowed to dry within this
temperature range. Application and curing below the minimum risks slow
drying which could lead to rain or snow damage. Application above the
recommended maximum risks drying too fast, with poor penetration into
the wood.
Application
One coat is sufficient to repel water on most wood surfaces. Saturate wood for maximum protection.
Dry Time
Allow 12-24 hours for drying. The temperature and humidity conditions may necessitate a longer drying period.
Clean Up
One coat is sufficient to repel water on most wood surfaces. Saturate wood for maximum protection.
