Description:
Enhance the natural beauty and grain of your interior log walls and ceilings with Lifeline Interior finish. It provides a breathable yet tough film finish that is easily washed, cleaned and dusted. Lifeline reduces the absorption of normal household odors into the wood. Lifeline Interior is non-flammable and virtually odorless. It will not yellow and lets the natural look and beauty of all types of wood show through for years to come. Lifeline Interior can be used on all new and existing log homes. Application methods and coverage rates are the same as Lifeline Exterior. Lifeline Interior will be the only finish you’ll ever need to apply inside your home. You may also use Lifeline Interior as a stain and sealer before the application of Acrylic Gloss or Satin.

Stain Application Tips:
For optimal performance, apply an initial coat and back-brush into the surface. (We highly recommend using UV BOOST in the first coat of Lifeline Interior.) Wait at least two hours (depending on temperature and humidity) for the initial coat to dry and then apply a second coat for the classic Lifeline look. For interior applications, you can apply additional Lifeline Interior coats to achieve the appearance you desire. Thin, even coats provide the best results.

- How often do I need to restain my log home?
- A good stain should last between 2-3 years on the southern exposure of the home and 3-4 years on the other sides of the home.
- What is the difference between oil based stain and water based stain?
- Oil
based stains have a strong odor, are user friendly, produce a natural
looking finish and require the use of solvents during the clean-up
process. Water based stain products are environmentally friendly, odorless but
can be a little more difficult to apply.
- What steps should I take before staining my log home?
- 1.) Make sure your logs are clean and sound.
- 2.) Make sure the surface temperature of the logs are between 50-90 degrees.
- 3.) Make sure the weather forecast is dry for two days during the
staining process and dry for a two days after the staining process.
- 4.) Make sure the moisture content of the wood is below 20% prior to the staining process.
- 5.) Make sure that you don’t have any compatibility problems with any previously applied coatings.
- 6.) Read all of the application guidelines for the stain material that is being applied.
- 7.) Recommendation: Use a sprayer to flood the surface of the logs with
the stain material and then immediately back brush the stain into the
pores of the wood.
- Do your stains contain a mildewcide?
- Most stain products have a standard amount of mildewcide in
them. We recommend adding an additional mildewcide packet if you live
in an area that is prone to high humidity and high temperatures. We
sell a mildewcide additive called Stayclean I/E.
- Is the UV protection in the stain or clear coat?
- The stain has a combination of pigments and UV-absorbers while the clear coat only has UV-absorbers.
